Job Summary:
We are lookingfor a product development technician with experience working with composites and formulation, specifically with epoxy, polyurethane and polyurea. The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting the Product Development Manager with research, design, product development, and testing of new products as assigned for the ecoFINISH product line. This position is primarily responsible for raw material evaluations, product formulation, resin synthesis, new product development, product improvement, testing, interpretation of results, reporting of findings and recommendations to Management.

Key Responsibilities include:

  • Assist in conducting exploratory and applied research to develop commercial products.

  • Develop and/or improve products to meet customer and market needs.

  • Preparation of lab synthesized samples for customer evaluations.

  • Assist in developing product technical literature.

  • Generate products and services from inception to commercialization for our installers

  • Application and development of material and process analysis.

  • Monitoring, tracking and organizing of all approved proposed new product samples.

  • Application and development of electrical test strategies and methods.

  • Modelling and simulation of process technology.

  • Design and implementation of experiments to optimize new and existing materials and processes.

  • Remaining informed of state-of-the-art manufacturing technology.

  • Monitoring, creation and management of intellectual property.

  • Ensure compliance with Health & Safety procedures.


  • BS in Chemistry (or similar)

  • Ability to effectively multitask and manage projects.

  • Experience with composites and formulation, specifically with Epoxy, Polyurethane and Polyurea

  • Fundamental understanding and knowledge of polymerization reaction mechanisms, catalysts,

    polymer structure, testing and characterization methodologies.

  • Must have a sense of urgency and be deadline-oriented.

  • Must have strong analytical skills.

  • Demonstrates attention to detail /organizational skills.
